Overview
Waft plays streaming Internet radio stations. For free.

Instead of picking stations from an arbitrary list of limited stations, Waft lets you add any station from standard .pls, .m3u, or .xspf playlist files. (Of course there is a built-in arbitrary list of stations to choose from to get you started.) Waft plays beautifully in the background.

Most internet streaming stations are supported including those broadcast via Shoutcast/Icecast and Live365.

Finding Playlist Files
Waft does not contain an extensive list of radio stations. Instead, Waft allows you to add your own stations via playlist files. Most stations have a way of downloading a playlist file to begin listening to their station on your computer. Here are some good sources for playlist files:

Most stations have a way of downloading a playlist file to begin listening to their station on your computer. Once you have obtained a .pls, .m3u, or .xspf playlist file, adding it to Waft is easy with iTunes. The following steps explain:

  1. Connect your phone to your computer and launch iTunes
  2. Select your phone in the iTunes source list
  3. Select the Apps tab from the phone information screen on the right

  1. Scroll the page down to the bottom to see the File Sharing section
  2. Choose Waft in the file sharing source

  1. Use the “Add…” button to choose a .pls, .m3u, or .xspf file to add to Waft

Once a playlist file is added, it appears in the Favorites tab:
