Overview

Druthers allows for easy navigation between panes in the System Preferences application without having to return to the “Show All” screen.  A list of available panes is accessible at all times.

Druthers version 1.1.2 (201 KB) January 1, 2010, requires Mac OS X 10.5 or 10.6.

Instructions

Open the System Preferences application and choose the Druthers preference pane to make the floating window containing the list of available panes appear.  Double-click on any item in the list to navigate to its pane.  The floating list remains available no matter which preference panes are selected.

The list can be organized alphabetically or by categories.  Druthers can also be set to start immediately when the System Preferences application opens.  There will be a brief transition as the Druthers pane is initially selected.
